Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a contract for software support and maintenance services for the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) software from Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI).
Body
WHEREAS, for more than 10 years they City has been using ESRI software for GIS functions; and
WHEREAS, the City has continued to contract for annual software maintenance and support during that period; and
WHEREAS, the use of GIS software for many functions throughout the City has continued to grow; and
WHEREAS, Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. is the sole developer and provider of these services; and
WHEREAS, 4.26(3) does allow for a 1 year service contract to be executed by the purchasing agent; and
WHEREAS, since this contractor was chosen as a sole-source provider of these services, and the total maintenance costs are now over $25k, approval of the Common Council is required by 4.26(4)(b) and signature by the Mayor and City Clerk are required by 4.26(5);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.be approved as the sole source provider for annual software maintenance and support for their products; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute maintenance agreements with Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. as needed for the above described services.
